Merrillville, IN – Today, Rep. Frank Mrvan (IN-01) issued the following statement:

"I strongly condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine, an action which violates international law, threatens international security and requires our nation to lead a determined multilateral response to deter Russia from continuing down this path of violence and devastation.

"Russia's violation of the core principles that have maintained world peace in Europe since the end of World War II must be a shared responsibility and met with definitive actions taken by NATO and its allies.

Federal and local officials said clean Lake Michigan and Grand Calumet River waters are worth the $1 billion.

That is the amount President Joe Biden and a bipartisan U.S. Congress voted is pouring into the restoration of water ways contaminated by a century of industrial pollution.

“It’s a proud day for Northwest Indiana,” U.S. Rep. Frank J. Mrvan said at Friday's press conference at the Gary/Chicago International Airport.
