Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan released the statement below following the final decision reached by the Indiana General Assembly on mid-decade redistricting.

“I strongly commend the courage and resolve our Indiana lawmakers demonstrated in reaching a firm decision against mid-decade redistricting.  Their willingness to stand by the maps adopted in 2022 reflects a clear commitment to stability, transparency, and responsible governance.


December 9, 2025

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan announced federal grant awards in Northwest Indiana, including for the City of La Porte and River Forest Community School Corporation, under the Department of Justice’s Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office. 

According to the Department of Justice, the City of La Porte will receive $500,000 from the COPS Hiring Program (CHP) to hire four additional law enforcement officers in an effort to increase community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts.

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan announced Josue Pedraza of Morton High School is the winner of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge in Indiana’s First Congressional District.  Josue used JavaScript to create his winning application, “RoboticsMuse.”  The application is an educational hub with resources and interactive lessons for students to learn more about robotics and find a community of peers who are also interested in STEM.

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan introduced H.R. 6217, the Revitalize Our Neighborhoods Act of 2025. This bill will establish a grant program to revitalize neighborhoods with vacant, abandoned, and deteriorated properties and promote the development of affordable housing.

“Today’s announcement should not come as a surprise to any Hoosier.  As a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana, and as someone whose father proudly served in the Indiana State Senate, we can all appreciate the thoughtful and deliberate work that went into the 2022 redistricting process.
