My office will continue to provide regular updates as we work with our local, state, and federal partners to make sure Northwest Indiana receives the resources it needs.

Documenting the damage is essential as we move forward with the request for additional federal assistance.  The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is conducting damage assessments, and residents should continue to report storm damage and unmet needs through Indiana 211

  1. Call Indiana 211: 211 or 866-211-9966
  2. Go online: https://in211.communityos.org

FEMA announced that the Major Disaster Declaration requested by Governor Braun for Indiana has been approved, which means Individuals and Households Assistance, Public Assistance, and Small Business Administration programs are now available to those impacted by the disaster.  Individuals in Lake, LaPorte, and Porter Counties who are eligible for Individual Assistance can begin the application process through FEMA:

  1. Apply online: www.DisasterAssistance.gov
