Daily Update on Federal Disaster Response in Northwest Indiana

As our communities continue to recover from the devastating storms of August 11th, I want to thank the United Way of Northwest Indiana for bringing much-needed resources directly to impacted residents.

I encourage friends and families in the impacted communities to take advantage of the resources being made available today and tomorrow in Gary and Lake Station. The United Way of Northwest Indiana will be distributing cleaning supplies, hygiene kits, and charging stations while supplies last.

The United Way of Northwest Indiana is also seeking volunteers to assist with ongoing recovery efforts. Individuals interested in volunteering can sign up at unitedwaynwi.org.

I deeply appreciate this latest example of our community coming together during this recovery effort. From first responders and local officials to nonprofits, churches, businesses, and countless neighbors, Northwest Indiana continues to demonstrate what it means to stand together and help our friends and neighbors in need.
