Ranking Member of House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations

In the 118th Congress, Rep. Mrvan has the honor to support veterans as the Ranking Member of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee within the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

Throughout his career as an elected official, Rep. Mrvan has worked to support the health and livelihoods of veterans.

The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations has oversight and investigative jurisdiction over programs and operations of the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as those of other federal agencies that pertain to veterans.  In carrying out its responsibilities, the Subcommittee conducts hearings, site visits, and investigations nationwide.  The Subcommittee oversees the implementation of VA programs including the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program and implementation of the Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act law, which treats toxic exposure as a cost of war by addressing the full range of issues impacting toxic-exposed veterans and is the most significant expansion to VA health care in 30 years.

Rep. Mrvan will continue to build upon his legislative accomplishments on behalf of veterans in the 117th Congress, which included the introduction of four pieces of legislation that were signed into law, including the Department of Veteran Affairs Expiring Authorities Act, the VA Electronic Health Record Transparency Act, the Strengthening VA Cybersecurity (SVAC) Act, and the Dignity for Military Sexual Trauma (MST) Survivors Act.  Rep. Mrvan will continue to draw from his formative experiences and conversations with Northwest Indiana veterans into all of the pressing issues before the Committee.
