Mrvan Announces 2024 Congressional App Challenge

August 27, 2024

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank J. Mrvan announced the details of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for middle and high school students from Indiana’s First Congressional District.

Each year, the Internet Education Foundation and Members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor the Congressional App Challenge to foster an appreciation for computer science and STEM education.  The Congressional App Challenge is an annual nationwide academic competition for middle school (6th – 8th grades) and high school (9th – 12th grades) students to create and exhibit their software application, or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.

Congressman Mrvan stated, “I am honored to host the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for students in Northwest Indiana interested in the STEM fields.  I encourage all eligible students interested in coding and computer sciences to participate in this unique educational opportunity.”

All students must register for the competition and submit their work through the Congressional App Challenge website by 12:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
