Mrvan Announces COPS Grant Award for Hanover
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan announced a Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) grant award for Hanover Community School Corporation under the School Violence Prevention Program.
Hanover Community School Corporation will receive a grant award totaling $350,150. According to the Department of Justice, these grants aim to support school violence prevention efforts, provide training to school personnel and students, and implement evidence-based threat assessments.
Congressman Mrvan stated, “I congratulate all the leaders and officials at the Hanover Community School Corporation for their success in utilizing this critical federal resource to improve the safety of students, educators, aides, and administrators in their schools. I was pleased to be able to submit a letter of support for this application, and look forward to continuing to work to support all Northwest Indiana entities in their efforts to improve the safety and enhancement of our region. ”
