Mrvan Statement in Advance of the State of the Union Address
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan released the following statement in advance of the State of the Union Address.
“Since 1790, the State of the Union has been a time-honored tradition for the executive branch to enter the well of Congress and annually update the separate and coequal legislative branch of government.
“I look forward to the respectful reception of tonight’s remarks, and believe that as a Member of Congress it is my responsibility to work as hard as I can every day to solve problems.
“As we move forward, I remain committed to working in a bipartisan manner with like-minded colleagues to complete our appropriations work to fund the government, to expand the abilities of our domestic manufacturing and steel industries to benefit our economy and members of organized labor, and address our pressing national security concerns, including the humanitarian crisis at our borders and ports of entry.
“While the economy is growing and unemployment is near record lows, I will continue to encourage the majority party in the House to build on our successes and encourage transformational investments that create more good-paying job opportunities for everyone.”
