Mrvan Statement on House Passage of Bipartisan Infrastructure Legislation

November 5, 2021

Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan released the following statement in response to House passage of the Senate-approved bipartisan infrastructure legislation.

“Throughout my career, I have known the incredible value of our labor unions and the Northwest Indiana workforce.  Our region is also fortunate to have so many economic infrastructure assets, including the South Shore Rail Line, the Gary/Chicago International Airport, the Port of Indiana - Burns Harbor, and our roads, bridges, and waterway system.

“We have discussed the need to make desperately-needed investments in our infrastructure and broadband technology for too long.  Today, we delivered.

“This is what it looks like when Members of Congress can work together in a bipartisan fashion to solve problems and improve the livelihoods of individuals in communities throughout our nation.

“I look forward after President Biden signs this measure into law to seeing these investments come to fruition and watching our incredible unions, workforce, and small businesses get to work to further grow our economy.”
