Mrvan Statement on National Teacher Appreciation Week

May 4, 2022

Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan, released the following statement to teachers during National Teacher Appreciation Week.

"During National Teacher Appreciation Week, as we recognize the hard work of teachers across Northwest Indiana, I want to share my deepest gratitude for your call to service.  From the time our children take their first steps into a classroom, teachers empower them with knowledge, support, and serve as inspiring role models.

"After the challenges of COVID-19, I would like to thank each and every teacher across Indiana’s First Congressional District for your commitment to adapt and show up to prepare our youth to excel.  As a parent, I remain appreciative for your devotion to your students, for offering stability in an uncertain time, and determination to ensure that students could thrive in a safe and productive environment.

"I would also like to personally thank all the teachers who guided me throughout my own academic career and helped shape me into the person I am today.  Good educators create engaged citizens, and I appreciate the lessons and work ethic they helped instill in me every day.

"Please join me in thanking the teachers who have impacted your life as we celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week."
